Backyard Bird Count 2010 Poster & Brochure
The Great Backyard Bird Count is an annual four-day event that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of where the birds are across the continent and in Hawaii. Anyone can participate, from beginning bird watchers to experts. It takes as little as 15 minutes on one day, or you can count for as long as you like each day of the event. It's free, fun, and easy-and it helps the birds.
If you're interested in helping spread the word about the Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC), you can become one of their special GBBC ambassadors. Your contribution may be as simple as distributing the GBBC poster in your area. Or you can do more, by printing the new release off this website and sending it to your local paper, bird club, library, birding store, and other locations.
Some people give presentations on how to do the GBBC with the help of the Powerpoint slide program we provide on this website. Last year, ambassadors coordinated GBBC events at nature centers, senior centers, and other locations. You can choose what you'd like to do.
All ambassador materials are available online or, if you prefer, they will gladly mail a packet to you.
Packet materials include:
* 2010 News Release
* 2010 poster/brochure
* Why Count Backyard Birds?
* Tips for contacting the media
